Since when is it the job of the community to make the game? Developers aren't even supported. Heck, the last client release was in October of 2007.

I heard that they're making a new website for the Summer (possibly to go with the client release like last time?) taking advantage of the features in HTML4, or at least I think that's what was said. I don't know anything else though.

It's been considered (or said to be) a development platform for quite some time, thus people wanting to develop pay for an engine and server hosting which isn't that unreasonable.

If they were expecting high quality servers to be created this way, it's ultimately been a failure since it mainly attracts beginner developers / graalians.

Agreed. If they would simply focus on developing the game (updates, real staff [no offense], ect) then they WOULD probably make more money, drag in more players, ect. One of the nice things about paying for an online game is the game's staff constantly updating it. On the topic of community developers, it is reasonable if you want to make a server to pay for it. Its not reasonable for that to be the only REAL thing to do on an entire mmo.

That would be interesting to see. They coooouuld take advantage of WebGL to make an in-browser version of Graal...but I guess that's doubtful.

HTML5 doesn't really offer anything attractive to Graal. They need to just make an eye-pleasing navigable site. Graal should be the focus.

To be honest, I was a bit confused what was meant by taking advantage of HTML 5 for a new site lol I mean, I guess you -could- use the new canvas support or something...but that's the least of the current sites drawbacks lol
