Posting a new thread for all the player level events/happenings is fine. Or more accurately, it would be fine if it actually had some community who cared about it beyond the 5~ replies you get when you post "X and Y got married". If the Era iPhone community was actually part of the forum community, I'm sure there would be plenty of threads regarding actual fun to be had on the server, and I can appreciate that you're trying to Era iPhone relevant to the forums (and vice versa). But that isn't working, is it? Instead of numerous threads about player testimonials, it's just two people, you and Andrew, posting crap and saying "LOOK AT US!!". If the iPhone community wants to post on the forums about all their fun exploits, they will. They don't need you two pointing out trivial things (a wedding? seriously? If this is your idea of fun and excitement Era iPhone has to offer, I'm astounded it has so many players).
A new thread for every tiny development update on the other hand is still dumb. There's no justifying that. Even for people on the forums who are actually interested in Era iPhone updates. Having all of the development kept in one thread makes Era iPhone's changes easier to find and review, and makes navigating how the server has evolved over its lifetime much easier. Plus, it's more professional. It keeps all the productivity of the staff in one place, it makes it look like you guys know how to keep things neat and organized.
And both types of thread would be better suited to iPhone subforums, which we need, because neither iPhone server is a playerworld and thus does not belong in the playerworld subforums. And even if you could categorize them as playerworlds, they're managed by different people than the already established playerworlds, so it doesn't make sense that they would both be forced share the same space for updates and news.
