Post Event Ideas

Here are some ideas for events that I have thought over.

Blaster Wars

While the blaster is a relatively useless weapon in a one-on-one fight, it is fun to use. So, for an event, it would be set up so that if you knock a person into a certain area in the event level, they would be removed from the event. It would be a Free-for-all Last Man Standing set up.

Side Notes:
-Blaster damage would be set to 0 or 1.
-All players would have the same movement speed, preferably that of a Commando-class player.
-I'd be willing to make the levels for the event if it is approved.

Hoverbike Race

I'm pretty sure Dark was the first person to suggest this, but, regardless, it is basically just a race on Hoverbikes. Sulukra suggested making it have laps, rather than a large GMAP, and I think that would work better, too. There would be obstacles placed in the way as well.

Side Notes:
-It should be impossible to have your bike be destroyed.
-Players should not be able to collide with each other.
-ETs should have commands available to them to set the amount of laps for the race.
-There should be 3 or more sets of race maps, so that the event doesn't get too boring.
-Again, I'd be willing to make the levels for this event, too, as I'm sure Dark would.

Capture The Flag

Rather than just bring it back, it should be made an event. Teams should be randomly divided, but there should be guidelines set in place to prevent one team from getting a bunch of p2ps and the other from getting a bunch of trials.

Side Notes:
-There should be commands available to ETs to make it a Guild CTF
-There is no need to make a new map, as the old CTF map would work fine.
-There should be no vehicles on the map (as it was before), and proxi mines should be cleared out after every event.

I will submit more ideas to this thread if I come up with any more.

I like all of these ideas. Especially the blaster wars. It would be cool if the showdown map could be made so it can switch between modes. Like /setdeathmatchmode blaster_wars, etc

Yay.

I'll start making the Blaster Wars map regardless.

I'll put the levels in this thread, along with a GMAP, when I finish.

I still say you should make the race a lap race.

Do you see any races with laps on Graal? Nope.

Thats why it'd be awesome. Either way, it could be one map with something random that determines what kind of obstacle is gonna pop up. Blocks, spikes, snow drifts, etc.

we would also have to add a

/warp accname,mapname - to summon the players to the event map
/setalltoclass classname - to make sure everyone has the same speed/weapons
/setdamage # - to make sure all of the players do the same damage

Blaster Wars is good, but wouldn't it be hard if there were a lot of people playing? You would be lucky to get 1 shot in before 10 people shoot at you at he same time, knocking you off.

Uh Cor, just use a script to set your tiledefinitions.

//#CLIENTSIDE
if (created||playerenters) {
addtiledef2 tiles,levelname.nw,positionx,positiony;
}

Or something like that.

The map is coming along fine, size is 2x3.

When I finish and submit the levels, you will see gray tiles around. Those tiles are the areas to which you want to knock a person into.

Also, I'm doing this in the lavacave tileset.

Opinions on the size of the knock-to area.

I currently have it set to 10x10 tiles.

Should I make it larger and have less areas? Or smaller and have more areas?
