Rendering Error?

Well I logged on Graal today, and before it launched a little message popped up saying 'Rendering Graphics Error'.

This has never happened before, and most of my images won't appear on client. Attached is an example picture from Era.

I don't really mind it.. cause I'm so used to the game I don't need to see anything to wreck people, but for some random reason.. my FPS lag is utterly flawless, even registering as high as 23-25 on some occasions, I've never seen my game run this fast.. in areas I'd usually have 10 fps I'm hitting 20-22 constantly.

I see it as an improvement, but it's still obviously an error and I'd like to know how to fix it if possible?

Thanks.

Delete your FILENAMECACHE and restart Graal.

Worst case, delete your Graal folder and re-install it.

I'm on v5.

Apparently the problem fixed itself after playing a different game for a few hours.
Now I'm extremely laggy again... rather have no images rendered `-`....

I had this problem in V5. BTW, V5 is supposed to be laggy running on Windows 7.

Graal is a game, why does it ever need to be run as administrator?

Why not? I guess it might need to read/write some files that can't accessed without administrative permission or something.

Overbearing Vista/7 UAC and Graal being installed to say.. C: \Graal or something to that effect could result in Graal being unable to write all images it's downloading and what not.

Installing Graal in their %USERPROFILE% folder or even %PROGRAMFILES% (I think that might cause more problems though) would probably alleviate problems related to UAC.

UAC is a pain in the ass, so I usually just disable it completely on every Vista/7 machine I work on. Most users I've ran into just panic/get confused and do nothing or click Yes to all of them regardless, or click No and complain that their programs aren't working.

Only happened this once in the two years I've had this computer.
I preferred it because I didn't lag ridiculously bad while playing events.

But I dunno how it happened, cause it fixed itself apparently as randomly as it happened.

What does UAC mean? Those 'Administrator Continue' messages that pop up?
If so.. how do I disable them? (If one pops up with Graal open, it turns the game screen black and gives some ### error and I have to re-open it.. those tedious things.)

Yeah those messages.

Open up Control Panel, and type in "UAC" into the search box. You’ll see a link for "Turn User Account Control (UAC) on or off". Then it's just a check box (Vista) or slider (7) to disable it.

Wow, that was extremely simple.
Took less time than re-opening graal.. what with the 'finding folder path' thing loading for 5-10 minutes.
