Suggestions please.

Hey guys, I want to start making a series of videos of Graal, on youtube.
I'll use by own voice and Ill talk about updates and make blogs ECT.
Does anyone know ANY GOOD Recording program and a good Video Editing program?
People are suggesting me to get Fraps, but it's not good enough!
I thought for a good video editing program ,I should get Sony Vegas 7.0 but if you got any better suggestions than feel free to Post it!
