Laphromi Revolution

Hey all i was looking through all my old post and i realized that i hadn't made a thread about the Manga/Anime im working on called "Laphromi Revolution". It takes place in the future where a giant government military power has taken over colonized space and crushed the resistance. It has at least 3 humanoid mechs in it and lots of other mecha stuff.

Im trying to make it as orginal as possible so thats one reason why there are only 3 humanoid mechs because normally i duno if we would really ever build them in the future aside from show.

Im also going to post some of my Laphromi Revolution Stuff that i have been willing to show the public.

this is one i just made

this ones a little big and would lag the page if with the other ones

Progress -its a little old-

If you want more info check my site Ground Zero For the Revolution

its still a wee bit uncomplete but you can learn more about Xioben.

Well, you know, 'cause it's only manga if it's made in Japan. So I guess you'll publish it once you live there?

Manga can be made any where, the one thing that makes Manga Manga is that its anime but in B&W.

You take alot of pride of basic shapes that anyone could form. It's not even good. You show it off everywhere when I could make crap like that up in 4 minutes with a ruler.

You could say that about any Mecha drawing, right now im only showing of basic outlines of the drawings i have done but when im finished their going to have lots of detail and various other things added to them.

And Mecha is basicly just shapes that anyone could draw so what.

Also im pretty sure you could make what i did with a ruler because i CGed most of the stuff with a point to point line maker in PSP7.

Just to remind you this is only the simplest versions of the drawings i have and i take pride in what i havent showed and that will be posted later.

Normally something like this is a point of view...
U can say the pictures of Picasso can be made by a child, but artists say they are wonderfull and stuff...
I think in action the figures won't look like some straight lines it's just a logo and I like it (my point of view)...

I think the art looks good, but you seem to misunderstand what manga and anime are. Manga can be black and white or color, or a mix of both. The important thing that makes it manga is that it is made in Japan. Manga usually refers to comics, but it can also be animated, as Anime are animated manga. Anime are manga, but manga are NOT anime, or, at least, aren't all anime.

Um manga is the style of the comic, if a good drawer paints them somewhere lese then Japan why shouldn't it be manga???
I think there will be no difference in the style if u draw all in Japan

thats what im saying but i can understand what Dante your saying also. When any one but Japanese people see manga they'll call it comics because Manga the japanese counterpart of comics. But i can make Manga anywhere its becuase its just a drawing style not just a name.

Manga is the term for a Japanese comic.. Just like Anime is the term for a Japanese cartoon. It isn't the style of comic, it's the fact that it's Japanese. Dante is right about this one.. look it up. Manga is a form of Japanese comics.. I think he is asking you because people like to mistake their comic for a manga since they want to make it in a Japanese style.

But what about all those books that say "How to Draw Manga"? They all tell you how to make a comic utilzing the art styles of Anime but drawing them in B&W with comic tones.

By what your saying is that the book should have a note inside saying "Everything you draw if not draw in Japan cant be manga so ha ha ha this book should be titled 'How to draw like Japanese Comic Book Artists' if you dont live in Japan". Also you cant really compare what your saying to American or other contries attempts to draw Manga because there are so little few and none of them have been heard of.
