Tilelayers would definitely open up more opportunities for levels to be much more dynamic and convenient than they are now by removing unnecessary images and scripts for things as simple as bridges, roofs, trees, and so on. This would also help improve the overall game flow and would require less processing (Less images and scripts to load) in my opinion. Not to mention, this would expand the creativity of levels to another notch.

Tilelayers are, yes, but not some of the suggestions mentioned in this thread.

You can do TIle Layers on Gconstruct, I seen a server with over 3 different tile layers and it looked bad ass...use to be roak but thats not up no more.
