Hehe, optical illusions for the win. Anyways I did some fixing up and color changes and it looks fine, not the best, but I have to move on. I'll show the final product house after I do a lot of fixing up on it..

O Sorry if it was a bit confusing, my bad.

Dunno if it really matches it...if you use it, you may want to change it to a downward slope rather than curly upwards? o.O... I always find it's best to draw new ones for the sides. or make them smaller...or something :9

WIP house tiles. I tried clockworks way, the style just didn't fit. Anyways I think it looks fine this way, Disregard the obvious roofing errors and the trans for circle stone to grass when critiquing this though..

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

I hope to pretty much finish these some time before the year ends.

All of your vertical roofs need to join the horizontal roof at its peak and your horizontal roof needs downwards sloping tiles at the back behind the peak.

I suggest adding a border to the rocks, imo the straight up stone path hitting the grass is just too much of a jump, you may just want to mellow it out with a thin border.

The architecture I have in mind for this city is a complex, perhaps even a tad chaotic feel to it. The tallest building might reach up to 4 stories tall, Its a large city meant to feel almost overwhelming on you.
My trouble is, the main path, the circle stones, draw way too attention to themselves, I can always defuse them slightly with details such as lampposts, the orange path tiles, etc. But not enough... Any ideas on how to draw less attention to those circle tiles?

Again, don't mind the roofing errors, also this level is not going to be part of the city, it is merely a testing ground to see what tiles I need to make or redo, so not too much time was spent on making it.

It simply needs less conrast.
Contrast is quite a key to draw the attention, you should also change the palette, the purple-ish stones doesn't look right in my opinion.

I think you need to make more cobble-stone tiles, you have a pattern that shouldn't cover every tile on your floor. You need to have other tiles to add detail and realism.
