What else is there to do on Era other than PKing and grinding for money?
It's interesting, how on a game built around people killing stuff; people complain that it's all about killing stuff.

Unholy Nation? Lots of killing (and events)
Zodiac? People level up so they're strong enough to kill others.
Valikorlia? From my experience people mostly RPed to fight others.
Era? You get the point now.

countless times in the past people have brought up the idea that Era shouldn't focus all on PKing and not once has anyone done anything about it nor have they brought any decent ideas to the table. the only thing people can think of is role playing, but these days players are not interested in that at all. they just want to mess stuff up and kill people.

I wasn't trying to say there wasn't anything to do besides PKing. instruments don't compare to PKing. you don't say to a new player "well you can PK, or you can play instruments!"

I just feel there should be a good idea that offers players a completely different way to play the game.

I don't know, I'm having trouble putting my idea into words here, but it's more than just "stuff" to do when not PKing.

Well, the way it would go is more along the lines of:

"Well you can PK, or you can win hundreds of events in order to afford to buy and play instruments."

There is no way I would be telling a newbie that they could play instruments until they have a handle on the existing events first.

In a game based on pking, yea, it's kind of hard to turn it into Barny Online - With Guns!. You can add things to make it more interesting (events, gangs, collecting the best weapons, etc), but it's always going to revolve around pking unless you want to turn the game into something it's not.

which reminds me. in an attempt to give players something to do besides PKing, instruments are released in which you need to rely on PK skill in events to win event coins in order to get these instruments. or you can buy them, but I still firmly believe you shouldn't be able to trade event items.

which leads me to my main argument, it would be nice if players can do things on the server in which they don't have to PK to get there nor should PKing be involved with it. businesses are the only thing that really come into mind here. Sales is right though.

Just leave Era the way it is. Dont bring a new Gmap. Era just needs a RESET. There is absolutly nothing wrong with the current Gmap.

The GMAP right now is confusing and needs to be better organized.

If we were to just initiate a reset now, we would not be able to implement some of the new things we plan to.

Resetting would only lead to another reset eventually; the root cause of this "economy" has not been fixed. Even with duping no longer a problem, there are other things that can be fixed or enhanced.

I disagree with what was going on with Angel's idea for the new overworld, and as the new development admin (in charge of Era's development), I will keep in mind what players want, and also discuss with other staff what they think will be best so that it is not rushed in to as it was before.

i agree with not getting a whole new gmap, if you need to change around places so you can implement some new ideas but i really dont think that most the era players want 3 islands and taking trains to get there and boats to get to the other.

I'm talking about adding versatility to the two dimensional broken record that is Era.

But it looks like that is already being done, I've been gone for a long time and now I see these instruments, it's a great start.

Uhm... Fixing the "two dimensional broken record" should be top priority. Adding versatility to a broken server won't actually help much (e.g Jenn Era)
