Bump.

It's time to renew the fight.

So I wonder how much the average speed of the Internet user has increased since then, need larger avatars to compensate, 100x100 pixels like suggested in the OP.

It's only an avatar, who cares whether it's 64x64 or 100x100 :|

I don't think it's bad as it is now. But I don't see a problem with making it a little bigger for some ppl either.

The people who want their extra 5904 pixels, so they can show how hip or anime they are.

the user info panel to the side of each post is a set size anyway. IIRC avatars could be 296 pixels wide without distorting the page at all.

I support this, of course. Being someone who has very ****ty internet, and went a long time with dial-up, I'd still suggest this.

Also, you can still set size limits to prevent huge animated avatars.

I close with the statement that signatures can allow any content, from a flashing sig to a 5mb animation. This is not a problem.

I don't care. Like with animated avatars, I care the management ignores or refuses to answer pleas made by paying costumers for things even as small and simple as this.

This is correct. The effect of simple things like this on the community is often (always) overlooked.

when isn't this community overlooked? im still grateful they let classic members post on this forum (to be fair this forum was practically dead at that time) but that was the last thing they did for the community as a whole afaik (props houdini).

I agree that avatars could be bumped up in size. But don't pretend like doing that would be some kind of panacea.
