Thumbs down Why does it keep doing this?

I wasn't going to post this, but it is really getting annoying now. Every time I load graal I have to deal with this.
"Scanning folder structure for fast access..."
Well acessing graal is not faster and everything runs exactly the same as before. How do I make it stop doing this?

Forgot to add that it does this on both v5 and v6.

When it starts to do that for me I dump my current Graal folder into a backup folder and fresh install it again. Usually starts doing it to me when I have too many files.

Well you can enable the file name cache in the options. If the file name cache is disabled then it will scan it before each start up, although normally it's only showing the first time you do it (Windows is keeping it in the cache for a few hours).

Just a hunch but go to your Graal folder and delete everything in "maps" that starts with "g2k2xmas2011dungeon". A side effect of spawning thousands of maps is that it filled up these folders and can cause Graal to take a long time to start—I had 11,000 maps in there earlier today when I noticed.

The size is not that important, but rather the number of files.

Wondering if you could write a script to delete them on client-side? On Zone we try to re-use generated maps and only reset the npcs in the map. Can that also be done on Kingdoms?

Yes, we will rewrite it to do that in the near future. I can see about a script to delete them, but not sure if this would need to be Login-priveleged?

Only if you could log onto a Graal server specifically made for face to face customer service...
