A lot of "English" words are stolen from French, Latin and Greek. Before that Old English was almost entirely Germanic based. So the language we have today isn't just a natural progression from that, otherwise we'd be speaking German. Thusly the difference between German and English is all of those French, Latin and Greek words we stole, which is a hell of a lot of words.
Protest is from the Latin protestari.
Agriculture is from the Latin agricultūra.

lol I knew they were latin, thats what I was saying. He was saying that words had a latin origin, which was understandable. Agriculae (1st declention neuter) is a latin word yes, but that doesn't mean agriculture isn't an English word. It's an english word just with an inspiration from latin. Thats basically what vendetta is. An italian word that derived from latin woooo #letsendthis
