I don't even have halo, nor do I like it or play it... but I'm aware that the.. plasma shield, was it? It was in Halo, and used by those little guys. Anyways, I wasn't copying that idea if that's what you think, especially because it's nearly impossible to come up with new ideas for a game like Zone when there are so many other games out there with the same concept... same guns, same ****.

So no, it's not a copy, I didn't intend on copying anything. It's a bad graphic I put together in about 8 minutes and threw a idea out to go with it. I thought sucking up player's energy would be slightly original (despite all the weapons that suck up energy) and that a defensive item would be useful.

Also realise that all the recently released items are just rip offs of a previously used item on zone (or from another game). I.E: Green Rifle (recolour), Plasma Chaingun (recolour, slight redo), Gravity Hammer (Rip off), Sniper (GEE I WONDER WHERE THAT IDEA CAME FROM), and Assualt Pistol (Lame remake of Apprices). I thought a new idea for Zone would be great. I mean, do we even have anything to defend ourselves with, other than running and hiding behind a tree? No. Would a shield be useful in SOME battles? Yes it sure would, especially in melee fights.

So don't act like a douchebag. Thanks.

i think zone got about all kinds of weapons you can imagine, that's why there are varietys in these weapons, in bullet speed, and firing speed for example.

Anyhow, the idea would be to use a ONE-HANDED WEAPON, -AND- the shield at the same time, just you press one button to shoot, and one to defend/reflect/whatever.

So it's not just "durr lets stand infront of my friends and block attacks", it's actually meant to be used FOR combat. Gosh..

Just learn how to dodge then.

Just a few scenarios where a shield would be more useful than dodging.

1.) Protecting your team members. If my team member is on a base and has a rocket launcher with tons of ammo trying to win the round, I want to protect them. So what do I do? I get a group of 10 team members and we make an impenetrable box around the person with the rocket launcher.

2.) I'm on Zone wars. I don't want my team's base to be attacked. So we group up around the power base and defend it.

I think it'd be really cool to see something "Go into the works" like an energy shield.

One of the reasons I particularly found this idea interesting was for all the different aspects of game play it could provide. You could charge up a base with energy to protect it from helicopters, rockets, and most forms of attack. The only way to get inside the base would be to take down the energy shields.

I support this idea provided they can make an image like the blaster bullet, but MUCH LARGER, that could be used as like a glowing circular shield around a base.

Ok, I changed my opinion on this. In your point of view, Supernanny, it makes the game really interesting. And, I support the idea to have more class weapons.

The shield should bounce bullets back at an angle. As the shield is circular if the bullet hit the top it would fly off in a northenly direction, perhaps only about 1/10 bullets should be rebounded.

I think it would be good as long as the restrictions are one it. Some slower classes need something to help. Suppose that you are a defender and some comando comes at you with silencers. It would then even out and be a true test of skill.

That makes sense. It would be annoying to have a commando running around with a shield and a carrot. Although, that would totally be something that I would do.
