I am unsure what you mean Elk, they are done by templates, and they are both unique, due to myself making them. I've posted an image of one that I am using.. They use left and right sides, however I've seen someone do a format that I feel is better...

Most circle type formats are a waste of space, however I've seen one where the sides go insides and the diagonals go on the corners... This could be more efficient..

I can't say Zodiacs systems are as in depth as to what we need, which is double a 'not an option' statement.

The extra 'padding' is in case there is a bigger sword, or for more looks.

Elk:
I'm not sure if this is what you meant, but basically each sword can the same template, however the weapon system I've created depends on class and height in pixels.
Weapons would depend on ganis which use the same template in different ways.

Of course we only are using 45 degrees... which it would be nice to change in the future.. before we have too many weapons. I don't know how to get photoshop to not be blurry or I'd do it myself. Due to using a Mac I can't use imagerot.exe.

I know you are also an artist, do you have any suggestions on the image rotation thing?
