No sound in GraalEditor

K, ran into a weird problem in that I can't hear any sounds in GraalEditor.

The sound is up in the settings, and it's not muted in my Windows mixer. I have tried different compatibility options... but nothing. In fact, Windows Mixer is showing that it's making noise, yet I still hear nothing. Sound works fine in Graal itself, also.



Any idea? It's kind of annoying.

I've debugged the hell out of this and ended up with some very weird results.

Copying GraalEditor(and the necessary files) into a new folder and running it allows the sound to work fine.

Also, renaming GraalEditor to Graaleditor2 and running it from within the Graal folder(meaning the only thing that was changed was the filename) also allows sound to work perfectly fine.

Whatever is causing this has specifically to do with Graaleditor.exe and the specific path of it. It doesn't have to do with config, or missing files, but simply that Program Files/Graal/Graaleditor.exe = no sound and Program Files/Graal/Graaleditor2.exe = sound. I have no ****ing clue what is going on O.o

Like I said, it's not a problem of missing files.

Anyways, I resolved it simply by renaming Graaleditor.exe to Graaleditor2.exe and updating my file association. Simply a filename is the issue -_-

Not missing files, but files that shouldn't be there. Like basswma.dll, for example.

I don't see how additional files would be the cause, especially when changing the filename fixed it.

Okay, I think I found the issue out while messing around with some scripting.

Apparently, setmusicvolume left,right; is somehow stored with the exe(or registry, or something), and not reset when the client is exited. setmusicvolume 0,0; will remove all sound(not just music), and even if you close the editor and never open that level again the setting will persist.

An easy fix is to just make a level and put setmusicvolume 1,1; in an NPC and run the level.
