Serverlist icons

Now that the thread is closed, unfortunately, I'm gonna post this here. No Stefan, I dont like those icons :/ I would rather see some better lookin, actually pixeled icons that would describe the theme of the server. Because the dev server one was pretty easy to recreate, I just did this one in around 3 minutes to show you what I think would look good.

The under construction servers should more have something medieval looking, may be some hammer and wood or so

Well, I liked the idea, so I quickly recreated it in the style I would like to see it. I can try to make some under construction looking icon ;o

JEEZ they closed the other thread about those icons, So when I found this thread I was kind of happy to give my opinion

To be honest those new icon are so UGLY!!!! I prefer to have the blue one lol, please change it back ;D

Crow is right, this isn't exactly the same as the thread that was closed. Stefan closed the thread for the news update for the serverlist. Crow made an opinion thread for his opinion on the icons for such an update.

The N-Pulse was more meant to be a wizard, we can eventually use a different wizard graphic for it.

When i looked at the icons for hosted tab quickly they looked at some Ice Lollies untill i seen this thread and looked at the graphic Crow made.

Well, maybe the icons dont really have to be characters, or cut out off an image of the server. Maybe it could just be a single letter, first of the servername or something, decorated nicely.

I think it should be up to the Manager/Owner to come up with an icon, since they know best what the playerworld is about.

From an artistic and production stand-point, they're not really clean. Icons of that size should be dealt with on a dedicated level, not just resized images. Icons are meant to be readable, without readability they completely lose their purpose. These images easily lose contrast battles with their background(which can change depending on profiles, so best bet is to choose mid-level colors), and have a hard time defining themselves.
This also goes along with what everyone else is saying that they don't represent their servers. What's the point of an icon if it's not representative?

For those of you who do not like the icons, and can pixel, why don't you make some? Maybe Stefan will like some of them, and use them?

Maybe avid players, and/or staff of the playerworlds can give ideas of what the icons can be, since they play/work there a lot, and know what the playerworld is about?

And, Twinny...I agree with what you said about N-Pulse having a coin or something having to do with events for their icon, since it seems to be an event server now.
