Terrain Editor not exporting properly.

When I try to export a .gmap from the terrain editor it doesn't seem to put the proper terrain height information into the various .nw files.

For the most part the .nw's vaguely resemble the .gmap. If there was a big enough mountain for example... then it appears in the graal editor.

However shorelines are misplaced, islands are misplaced or missing or blown up into peninsulas. There are black fractures inbetween many of the .nw borders and in some .nw it didn't even save any terrain detail at all. It's just a big giant dark blue hole filled with water that cuts through whatever is around it.

Sorry, I didn't see this thread earlier. When you generate a map with the terrain generator there is no defined heights in the .nw files, so it is unlikely for the levels to not resemble the gmap because they are all defined BY the gmap. Unless the level is edited by GraalEditor manually, the levels will be practically blank except for links, NPCs, etc. If there are black gaps and such, you probably made one of the squares on the terrain gen too far lower than the one below it. Make sure it is not a big gap of terrain from square to square. For example, don't go from -15 to 12 in one square.

You might also try adjusting the map chaos. If the chaos is too high and/or the level vertexes are too violent, it could cause the problems you're experiencing. Try setting the level heights to 4, gen height to 130 and the chaos to 0.55 and see how that works for you. Base should probably be something like -15. You have to adjust a few things to get it perfect, but trial and error should provide you a good enough answer after the explanation I have just given you.

Now it won't even create .gmaps

All it does is just save a 1 kb file with no extension.
