I actually was thinking the same thing while I was making it, and I intended on softening the red colors, but then I sort of decided that I liked how it stands out. I want there to be imperial-seeming colors to stand out.
One thing about that door. I actually scripted it to stay open while you're standing in it. So if you're standing in the doorway it won't close until you leave. It's also got 3 frames of animation instead of just disappearing when someone touches it, it opens/closes. Not to mention, I know none of this is graphics related now, but I also made an original new sound effect for the door opening closing.
Me and skyld also worked on the front gate and bridge that goes overhead, now there is a metal gate that will slide under the bridge and also players can walk under/over the bridge at the same time. It really gives the illusion of layering where there is none.
