The transparency of "the board" could not only cause distractions (other player's trying to talk to you, I know I'm unable to ignore that sort of thing) but also shows a missed opportunity to create table images for display under the playing field.
It's cute that you try to incorporate the classic gui sprites, but number display for things like health in magic is just tacky. A bar (or even actual hearts for health) would not only be more cosmetically pleasing, but would make the game itself identify as Graal related much better than just "hearts: 10/10".

This is actually based on the old layout, and while it does take up quite a bit of space cutting it in half would require a separate layout for when just watching the game.
The transparent background iirc was specifically intended for you to possibly see others that might join the game as a watcher, I could however disable the display of chat during the game.
A bar may look better, but I think it's important to show the specific number in a game where one Card or HP/MP point can make a difference, what if it were turned into a bar that displayed the current number on top of it?
