- Old method:
- Gang A has 100 points
- Gang B remains at 0 (as far as I remember, points didn't go in the negative)
- New method:
- Gang A has 100 points
- Gang B remains at 0
- Later that night, Gang B earns 100 points, Gang A doesn't earn anything.
- Old method:
- Gang A loses 100 points, and is now at 0.
- Gang B has 100 points
- New method:
- Gang A keeps its 100 points
- Gang B now has 100 points
- Final Score:
- Old method (Gang B wins):
- Gang A - 0, Gang B - 100
- New method (Tie):
- Gang A - 100, Gang B - 100
So let's think about this for a minute...how the **** is that fair? Both gangs earned a total of 100 points, and yet Gang A loses? With the new method it was a tie (how it should have been).
If points did go in the negative, then you're right, nothing changed. But players would much rather see 100 and 100 over 0 and 0 -- everyone wants recognition for the points they earn and 0 is hardly doing justice to both gangs' activity.
A lot of players didn't like the old method, and that's why they suggested it should be changed.
