i really don't think the male/female ratio problem can be discounted where this question is concerned. not if we're going to be fair.
to simplify: if you take a group of 9 guys and 1 girl? (selected at random) a male is going to come out on top in nearly any comparison or contest - most intelligent, best writer, singer, shortest, shiniest hair - just because of the numbers.
the only real way to test this kind of hypothesis would be to set up a tournament with equal numbers of equally inexperienced males and females. |
