I think they're way too huge... I don't like smilies offsetting the vertical positioning of my text. But any attempt to make a smaller version(which I swear I've tried before) leads to no actual room to give emotion:
The actual detailing and shaping of the head takes up so much room that there is no space left for the face(hence why smilies usually consist of just a circle with an emotion in it). And I don't think it's worth the smilies offsetting text for the sake of having a noob head as a smily. Oh, and how can you have a noob head when
every head is a noob head?
