A good manager is someone who can be looked up to by the entire staff team. A good role model and a support limb. S/he should have a clear goal for the server and a plan on how to get there, otherwise the manager is just useless.
Managers should be able to decide the difference between what is wanted by the players and what is realistic and find a good median to accomplish a project. Managers should also be able to recognize the difference between the players' wants and the server's needs. It's also important for a manager to realize that what the players want isn't always what's best for the server and it's their duty to decide how well something will improve a server.
A manager should delegate their power and responsibilities outward to control teams separately. If you have different limbs to a body it's a lot more stable, so good team leaders should represent the administration for their team. The manager should be involved in all of the future updates to the server and should be motivating to their staff team and easy to get along with. |
