Global Chat
 

It'd be really nice to see the global chat feature used :) I've been trying to get people to chat on Unholy Nation in global chat for the past few days, and some of them didn't even know that there was a such feature.
Perhaps it could be advertised on the serverlist news?

I would like to see the global chat used more often as it's a really nice feature. I even had an idea of creating my own channel for graal news so people could contact me easily but I failed to script it.

I'll talk to Stefan about giving me script access to add some more features (moderation and such), and then it should be possible to integrate it better into things.

I use the global chat / IRC stuff for Zodiac's shout channel.

It needs password protection for channels and the ability to set nicknames tbh, before I would consider it a viable public option.

Unless they just make a good scripted for one Login server, that would be nice.

At one point I started making an IRC "client" for Graal that encrypted chat for password-protected channels, and if you were using the client, would allow you to set your nickname. Everything worked, it just needed to be cleaned up a bit. I have no idea what happened to it, unfortunately.

Yeah but I tend to use the IRC stuff on RC, so Staff can monitor the shout channel without going on client. I assume that if someone watched the channel on RC it would show up as gibberish.

Global Chat is just another excuse for players to spam racial slurs, vulgarity etc. They aren't moderated or anything, nor can a GP do anything if someone is spamming in the servers global chat!

If more support for moderation was introduced then maybe the global chat would be a much better place to communicate.

Yes because it is the moderation that we appreciate so much right here, we clearly need to introduce it to all other aspects of Graal
