Graal runs better on Windows 7 than on Vista.

I recently installed Windows 7 and the moment that playerlist pops up and you click it, you know something is fixed. For Vista users you're used to an annoying error "beep" sound going off everytime you click anything on the playerlist. That's gone in Windows 7.

On Vista, if you have the Aero theme enabled (where the taskbar, start menu, and windows have a transparency effect, preview mode when you put your mouse over something in the taskbar, etc) your screenshots with alt + 2 will come out blank. On Windows 7 this is fixed, even while using the aero theme.

There are no performance issues, but then again I am running on a high end system so it's hard to tell. I guess Microsoft gave Graal a break this time, ;).

Fixes:
-Annoying beeping sounds when clicking on anything in the playerlist.
-Blank screenshots due to aero theme.

I think it's pretty hot, the main problem is that my resolution is tiny (1024x768) so it looks much larger than it should be. The red-ish background is thanks to valentines pluffy. :[

I had a beta going in a virtual session at work and I found Windows 7 was alot more resource friendly than Vista :)

Wait, do you know the speed of the hard disk (i.e 5400pm or 7200rpm)? Because I recently reformatted my laptop to Vista Enterprise and Graal still doesn't run smooth on it, even though it's specs were on par with my desktop's which ran Graal fine on Vista. I was thinking it has something to do with the hard drive only being 5400rpm but if your laptop also has it then it must be Vista for sure.

Ever since I got Vista, Graal haven't been running smooth at all in D3D - it is however running fluently in OpenGL mode.

Perhaps related?

Have you tried toggling bitmap fonts in the option window?

Err... he is using the Original.

It's pretty dumb, the only different between Old and New is the tree's. They need to make a proper Old tileset, that's like the Original but with fixed grass(as that's how the old tileset really was).
