Does anyone have a good walkthrough for a newb to GS2?

Stupid question, no one laugh lol, but these .txt files of scripts I see everywhere, do I just create a blank NPC and drop the text in there for every level it's to be used on? Or just upload the .txt file to the scripts folder and define it somehow? Maybe someone can give me a basic... easy script and just tell me where everything goes? That's my main concern right now.
