ctrl+m
Now, I know offline editor support is nonexistant... but I'll still throw this idea out here anyways.
M while editing a level will generate a map of the current gmap. Now, I realize while generating this map it has to go through and screencap each and every level, and resize it. So I suggest while editing, pressing ctrl+m(or alt+m, doesn't matter) generates a 1:1 image of the gmap. No resizing at all. I'm tired of having to stitch screenshots of my levels together. It wouldn't be any additional CPU work since it already takes a full size screenshot of each level. On a vaguely similar note, but not quite... with the move to total online editing and such, how are we going to be able to make maps anymore? It seems while they want everyone to move to online tools, there is always going to be a reason to have to use the offline tools as well :/ |
Well, the server will just have to work really hard, and you'll have to deal with it.
... That's about what someone will say in favor of online tools ;) |
:/

Let's remember though, ctrl+m! It may never see the light of day because no updating, but if Stefan ever changes his mind, it's been said!
It would be so great to be able to take a full screenshot of a gmap instead of stitching together images. That's such a pain. |
It doesnt seem too hard to script something that takes the shots and names them properly for a stitch...
|
The work is already done though, in the editor... all it takes is removing the final step of resizing at the end.

Sorry, no updates to offline tools.
The future is in the slow, buggy (especially for Mac) online tools. :rolleyes: |

Yeah, at first I thought this was going to be about the :\ emoticon.

There is a script command makeScreenShot2(filename,objecttypes,x,y,z,pixelwi dth,pixelheight) which can be used to make screenshots, and with the drawing panel you can combine them, although that is currently bugged and will be fixed in the next version.
objecttypes= 1 (player) + 2 (other players) + 4 (npcs) + 8 (disappearing particles) + 16 (weapon showimgs) + 32 (daynight effect), variable allrenderobjecttype = shows all |
