High CPU Usage
1 Attachment(s)
*EDITED* Well I don't know why but whenever I tried posting it by itself, the webpage didn't work... anyways, yeah that's the problem.
Sometimes the usage (Like right now.. actually) reachs 40%, which is absurd. |

What exactly is bad with 20-40% cpu usage? Graal is also not "a simple graphics game", it's basicly a 3D engine for displaying a 2D game, but is also hosting a virtual machine for the scripting engine, plays sound effects and streams music, exchanges real-time data with the servers, is also a webclient (e.g. the news display on serverlist) and displays Flash videos and games (used on Skills games, Unholy Nations).
If there is a lot of lag then it's usually a bad driver for the graphics card, or a bad internet connection, but the driver problem is more common. |

Stefan I know... I mean compared to other games, like Oblivion for example. Oblivion, (On my computer) only took up about 10 percent of CPU usage... even though it had so many more things to load and etc. The point is, the high usage isn't just lagging graal, it's lagging other programs that I try to use while on graal, so It's become a slight problem. I'm sure it's my computer, but I don't know exactly what about my computer is wrong... I'm going to update my drivers and graphics to see if that may improve it, like you mentioned. :noob:
(Don't bother with attachment, got it here..) |
Hmm, someone also had an issue with extremely high memory usage on Zodiac.

Graal is not a high-end game, therefore it shouldn't take a high-end PC to run it smoothly. I too get ridiculously high memory usage, for next to no activity.
By the way Lord Conorr, your posts aren't working because you're using a percent sign. If you use "percent" instead of the sign you'll be able to post, or search around on the forums as there are various fixes posted for that. |
Graal was hogging more memory then Crysis for a friend, or so he said.
|
Yeah but it's not the only game I have doing that... I have some other game called "Eclipse" that should actually be using less memory than Graal, and yet it uses double what it is on Graal. Still, I don't get it.. because it shouldn't be like that, right?
How would you fix that.. :\ |
I generally run RC, Graal, Firefox/Internet Explorer (Depending on which I click) and Window Live Messenger. Just those 4, and nothing else. Messenger and Graal take up a HUGE amount of CPU time, and Graal is the only one with a tendency of freezing on me, and when it freezes, WLM freezes.

Ugh.. Lol, turns out it's just my connection. I have like 3 other people on my network ... All on the internet at the same time, but it turns out my brother was downloading something in the background which was messing up all my crap and slowing my connection, so problem solved..
Sorry for all the commotion.. I couldn't stand it so I went lookin for an answer, turns out it was really simply -_- |
