Beta test/new version download?

How about we have players with VIP or something help beta test the graal client. Have some little pop-up ask you if you want to download and try the beta version of the next client so they can report bugs they find.

Or ask players if they want to download the newest version instead of forcing everyone to get stuck with a few bugs as soon as you post the updates to your servers.

You could even attach a brief description of update changes to the new versions then.

We have already made lot of test and so far only a few bugs as been reported and confirmed.

But the idea is interesting.

It would eliminate the disgruntled players from the forums rather easily if we just fixed the bugs before the client was released. Using the VIP accounts for beta testers wouldnt be so bad, even if it was optional. I'd gladly help find and report bugs, I know how lame it can be when it doesnt work right.

Its very helpful, WoW uses the test server for new versions and they don't have any major bugs when patches are released.

What major bugs are you speaking of ? The blue color of the task bar ? This version has been tested a lot. Each new version has a few problems, although most things people don't like right now can already be customized. We also welcome players to post their suggestions for things they wish to have in the next version.

I know Stardock applications show beta versions and allow you to try them out and report any serious issues as well. However it does not ask you if you want to download beta versions, as you have to tell your stardock to download them.

Mostly because you cannot test every situation yourself, and it is always nice to get other points of views on things. It is not just the developers point of veiw then, but atleast a small percent of your player/client base that can add ideas for you to work on and debug.
