Metropolis in dire need of scripters.

Well in case no one knows I am once again between a rock and a hard place. The trouble is I have all these npcs that need to be made and no one to make them. I am not just looking for the average casual scripter if you wish to help out you must know very well what you are doing and be able to produce scripts that may prove to be very complex. Some of the more favorable programmers that have made metropolis possible in the past have been Malinko, Sky, Slash, Robin, and Jacco most of which have long since gone thier own ways. I would ask any who apply to live up to the legacy of metropolis always having very talented scripters. With that said I will now post some screen shots of the server and provide a brief discription.

A brief history of Metropolis

About a year or two ago there was a server planned to provide an original alternative to violent playerworlds brainstorming was done with myself and a person by the name of H-I-M and we came up with a roleplaying game in a modern environment using heavy character development ( generaly based upon the sims and improved alot.) To make a long story short we produced a few levels and got some graphics up and running with a few cool scripts thanks to Robin. Later we were going at a fast pace and many systems were being implemented when I ran into major problems with the actual person who purchased our playerworld and when progress eventually died as a result of this very negative person who did no actual work but proceeded to weaken staff relationships I decided we could no longer mantain progress and scraped the server. Now with this individual apperantly gone we have moved servers and are now 100 % secure from that situation from ever occuring again.

I'd help out again, but I don't have an upgraded account. No monies to upgrade either... :frown:

Inconsistency and fickleness tends to scare people off, methinks.

I love how you always have this amazing insight....

That's cheap coming from you.

Also, I would have thought the last part could have been done via PM, or AIM or the likes

Not really, the entire point of the thread is to volunteer. He just volunteered someone else.

Hm, I actually do have a full backup of scripts, tilesets, graphics, ganis, and levels of Metropolis. Tony Rivers, if you want them, forum PM me your AOL Instant Messenger Screen Name, I'll send them to you. :)

Of course, I have more than the attachments below, though, I think it will give more people the interest of Metropolis. :)

Ahh that's alright then, I was thinking he was telling him that he hired someone, which is 1 to 1, and can be suggested through AIM. My bad...Gotta stop coming on in the mornings.

jacco wanted to work there but had no account with gold, so I gave him one of my 5 p2p's :P

I remember Metropolis. From the screenshots it looks like the good graphics have been replaced :-/ I liked the old table lamps.

The truth hurts.

It may look very good visually, but how many times has the Metropolis comeback been made?

TonyRivers 03-24-2005 01:59 AM

Yeah the old table lamps were better but I had to make a brief replacement until I could find the backups also the old plants were pretty cool as well.

The truth hurts eh? Of course we have had one or two minor setbacks its not like we were sitting there not doing anything productive. I was still working on metropolis through thick and thin even when I had no contact with the rest of the team and through it all we have come out better, and reinforced our ideas metropolis will prevail through anything even without a scripter....

Also what hurts is when I make a post asking for help I get 2 smart-asses instead, who have nothing constructive to say. Your posts are negative and irellavent to anything this discussion was intended for and should be deleted.

meh... wish I could help.. i would
