Contest / Challenge
I have been thinking about this challenge for a while now, and have finally decided to post it.
I think it would be cool if scripters would script a old arcade game and post it and have other scripters and or players rate it. Don't be afraid of posting your script, its on here and will be found eventually by the PWA so there is nothing to worry about really in the script stealing aspect, this also helps intermediate scripters learn how to progress by seeing examples in real time. Some ideas for old arcade games are: Pong Frogger Space Invaders Tetris Snake Astroids Pacman Breakout Feel free to post any more game ideas, remember the contest is for older arcade games only. And once again don't be afraid of script stealers. |
Nifty.

Some of these have already been made.
Also its Pacman, not Packman. |

I knew that >.< I just fixed it. So what if they have already been made, what is wrong with making them again there is a million ways to make something. |
Hmm. I think I might try this out. ;-)
When I get some more free time. I've never made an arcade game, but I almost made an asteroids game once. |

Look familiar? It was also released on console. |
Hmm, I guess I'll dump some of my old stuff, these are really just based off of arcade games and are kinda crappy since I made them so long ago... (ok the duck hunt is rather new, and is actually fun :P )
here is Aforce , I don't remember where I first played this game, but it seemed rather arcade like Off-road, sort of duckhunt |
Or if someone could make Joust.. That's my favorite old arcade game lol

I once started on a pong script... I'll see if I can find it, and finnish it.
|
How shall I do it? I was planning on programming whatever game as an exact clone of the atari 2600 engine, or should i update it? Both would be interesting code examples.
I might start with pitfall... |
Anyone who can script me pacman gets a hug. <3
