Problem with alpha blending
I'm trying to edit G2k1's swimgani because I want the ripples around the head to be translucent... But it's not working...
I added this below the DEFAULTBODY/HEAD stuff... but it's not working... NPC Code: Any idea as to what I'm doing wrong? And yes, the sprite numbers are 20, and 21.... Here, ill attach the gani with the changes... |
i have never got any color thing to work in ganis :-\ .

Hm... Well I'm not much of a scripter but I've never seen "EFFECTMODE" in any gani that uses effects. I'll attach a gani here I made which uses some, the script is from the original lamp gani on 2k1 - maybe it can help you out? I notice there's no: "SCRIPT <script here> SCRIPTEND" in yours either but like I mentioned before - I'm not much of a scripter and it may not be neccessary in yours ;x |

And even if EFFECTMODE isn't a valid command, I don't think it should make a difference... Edit : I did a search on Alpha in the gani forums and came up with two other threads not including this one... I read through them... its still not working though ;O Edit2: Ok, i've looked in the newfeatures2002.txt which contains notes about EFFECTMODE and COLOREFFECT... And I've looked at Angel.gani which uses COLOREFFECT I seem to be doing everything right and yet it fails to work... This is baffling... |
Well I can see this forum is being put to good use...
|
i really should look into ganis
as of right now i can't even make a non-scripted gani o.o |
You shouldn't make a sarcastic remark like that when people have tried to help and in just about every other thread has helped, not to mention there's an FAQ or two stickied :)
Gani scripting is quite limited and like I said before I've never even seen "EFFECTMODE" in a gani. Maybe what you're trying to do isn't even possible? I wouldn't doubt I'm wrong though e_e |
You cannot use effects on 'variable' images, eg SPRITES, ATTR1, PARAM1, etc.
|
haunter if you still are having trouble, ask Karsh.
|
I don't believe Karsh is too familiar with the scripting side of ganis.
