A little warning..!
I meant to post this a while back.
Anyways, I logged into Unholy Nation's RC a while back by mistake and they were desperately trying to get my help before I logged back off. Anyways, a problem arised on that server in which nobody could access their levels/heads/ folder. It wouldnt load for them.
I messed around a little bit and was able to gain access myself into the heads folder, mind you it took forever to load. Guess what I found. I found a folder with an incredibly large amount of heads...more than I had seen on any other server. I figured that was the problem and I was going to try to back the folder up and delete its contents in the FTP to see if that helped. I was in the process of downloading all the heads into a folder I had created on my desktop--SUDDENLY I realized what was the problem. Somebody had uploaded almost every GLOBAL head into their LOCAL head folder. I was seeing head998.png, head999.png, head1000.png, head1001.png....etc etc, downloading. I checked a few to make sure the graphics were the same as the global ones..and they were.
Anyways somebody messed up, or got confused, or thought it'd be funny. I deleted all the global heads out of their folder and everybody was able to access the heads folder again perfectly fine.
So moral of the story is:
DO NOT UPLOAD GLOBAL HEADS INTO A PLAYERWORLD'S LOCAL HEAD DIRECTORY!!!
I was able to access the folder when all those heads were in it ONLY when I had just R access to it. Everybody who had RW access got locked out...I'm guessing because you are not allowed to edit global heads? Some internal scripted check I suppose.
So dont upload global heads into your heads folder, and dont name any heads "head*.png" either, since that is the name format for global heads. I'm guessing the same applies for swords and shields, but I have not encountered a problem involving them on a playerworld...yet.
Thanks..
