Gs3

Pretty much my question is, what is so special about it?

What will it enable that GS2 does not?

Oh man this is a big step. We will finally be more like proper languages. This surely will speed things up and make the code alot more easily followed. I for one definitely plan on learning this new language. It also enables better syntax error reporting and many other things.

I actually liked not having types, one of the things I did like about GS2, reminds me of javascript.

To be honest me too.. but it's something that I can get over I guess, if they let use use GS2 the same way they did GS1 when GS2 came out. And does anyone know will GS1 still be supprted?

In theory it's supposed to be faster and more efficient, one of the other mentioned strengths was being able to compile GS3 into different languages. GS3 is more of an update for Eurocenter than us, so they can port their work to other platforms faster and use their tech in their other projects.

Currently I don't see any benefit to use it over GS2. It doesn't actually make developing any easier or provide new features.

We're still stuck with an out-of-date development tools, shitty layer support, no advancement in graphic effects (the last biggest thing was particles), a laggy playerworlds server, and a terrible business model that only serves to stifle developer growth.

I personally will not be using it unless given a reason to do so. As of right now it all seems to be more or less a novelty thing to me. You want to use GS3? Great, go you. You don't want to use GS3? Great, go you.
