I make stuff

Decided to start a little overworld so I could take my mind of other things and I didn't feel like making graphics.

This time though I decided I actually wanted to finish it. My older overworlds I had absolutely no expectations and I never planned to actually finish them, but I liked designing the world. So now I figured I'd make a small one I could realistically finish.

Looking good so far :D

Wow! I can't wait to see the end result, keep up the good work Dusty!

You make good stuff

Great stuff so far. I'm glad you're utilizing every part of the map so far. Too often I see extravagantly detailed cliffing and shorelines that have no purpose gameplay-wise, thus the player can't even get close enough to see them, or they are generally ignored.

Already I can see your ideas through your leveling.

That's some pretty neat stuff.

I like it a lot, smashing work on the cliffs - nicely done!

Lovely work on the customs too +rep

How much work did you put into the custom tile set and would you be willing to post it?

As for the map, it looks good. I am happy to see that you've put some planning into the map, I can already see areas where a player would have to revisit after obtaining a certain time to access alternate areas. Would love to see more.

Not sure how much work has been put into it. It's an old tileset I use whenever I make levels, and I just add onto it as I need tiles. The problem is it's fairly messy and many of the tiles added are hard to tell what their purpose is as they don't really look like anything. Since this is a tileset I just use for offline levels I make when I'm bored, I just slap tiles in anywhere I see space so it's pretty unefficient. I'll post it when I'm done though(no point in posting it now as it's always getting new tiles).

And yes, there is going to be a purpose to the map, and a gameplay flow, even though it's not meant to actually be played. It's always good to approach a map like this imo, even if it will never be played as it's good practice for world design.
