Transparency images on Graalshop - Help

I have always used Gif images to place as sprites on Gani's.
But today, I wanted to make a Transparency image to use.

Question 1:
Is it only me, Or does .png images not work on Graalshop?

Question 2:
How would I be able to add a transparent Image to Graalshop,
When Gif doesn't support it, Png doesn't work,
And Mng is not supported Via Gimp/Paint.Net?

Thanks for the help!

I am pretty sure I have used PNG's in graalshop. But I believe you have to make them 256 color for them to work rather then the 16 million color's they support.

I used 3 different shades of blue including transparency.
Tried .png again and nothing shows up

Graal is just funny, you have to lower the color depth, to 256. The color you use for transparency does not matter.

I have attached an image showing that PNG's are supported.

You should probably avoid MNG, it's seldom used anymore in the real world, and rarely in Graal.

The offline tools support PNGs, but only PNG 8 (which is limited to 256 colors and no semi-transparency). If you've been using GIF, you're used to these limits anyway. Photoshop can save as PNG 8.

PNG 24/32 (Photoshop combines these with the "transparency" checkbox iirc) can be used online only but allow > 256 colors and semi-transparency.

GIMP and the like probably allow saving like this but I'm not familiar with it. If you have Fireworks, I'd highly recommend that over Photoshop for web graphics (like Graal's).

If you're looking for animation support, PNG doesn't have it, unfortunately.

I guess that shows they are.
However, I cannot add any sprites that are Png.

255 is the largest depth.

Here is the image. This is .png and does not work.
What do I need to edit for this to be allowed, then?

I re-read that, Sorry for the misunderstanding :o
So, What CAN I do to make this image work?
I only use Gimp and Paint.Net

Don't believe you can, as it contains semi-transparency. What I think you can do however, is make it solid blue.. and then using gscript apply a opacity on it.

Just use a version of the image without semi-transparency while you work on it in the GANI editor and upload the actual one when you use it online.

I was having trouble using this one tho. It appears to be correct tho. Maybe I didn't put it in the right folder, as I haven't had to make gani's or images for YEARS..

I'll try that and reply if it works or not !

EDIT: It didn't work, The image was Png so it wouldn't add as a sprite.
So I ended up making a non-transparent one in .gif.
So is it possible to make the attribute transparent Via GScript?
Not the player as well?
I'm using the image for a player attr.

You shouldn't need to use GScript. Just use the GIF to get everything looking right and change it before putting it online.
