Scripter needed HELP

Looking to hire a NAT to help me sort out 3-5 scripts. The server is ready for release however there are a few scripts that are ALREADY scripted that just need fixed. It's a few small glitches/problems that I can't sort out myself so I need some help.

Offering $20-$30 USD for some of your time to make it worthwhile. I appreciate a response.

Don't listen to this guy. I worked with him and he promised me $50 to finish a few scripts. I did, then he offered payed me in salmon.

Yes I offered you pay last time my server was up in 2010.. Oh.. wait you didn't have an account then?

To confirm: Half pay will be paid up front, remainder after completion. :D

Hezzy002 05-09-2012 07:33 AM

He'll try to pay you in 100% pennies sent by airmail.

Clockwork 05-09-2012 10:36 AM

Do I need to know how to script to apply? :o

Why would he do that?
It usually costs more depending on the package weight..

Even if he were to use one of the boxes that has the deal "if it fits it ships" I think all the pennies wouldn't fit into one box...

If it is that hard to fix, why not redo it. o.o;
I might find someone to have it done for you,
but I don't want him to get into something that
he will be used for and not reap the rewards.

This already happened when Twinny was hiring
for iClassic, my friend did the best, and Twinny
let him know, then said he was no longer hiring.

I honestly think it was just so Twinny could use
his script and run. >.>;;

And with a name / subname like this:

TheJames
U jelly

I don't find your intent all that honest.

Twinny wouldn't do that. Twinny could script anything he'd need himself.

Then why would he host a competition to find out who is the best,
find someone, then shoot the guy down.

It seems immoral to do so,
especially since my friend did what he wanted,
three times.

He was asked to do the main thing, told to do it another way,
then to do it another specific way, then after he finished it Twinny
announced he was no longer hiring anyone.

When I give my word that something is going to happen, it happens.
Even if the people selected happened to win without being the best.
In regards to my LAT Competition that ends on the 16th.

(therefore further planning was necessary,
and I had the idea it may happen as it is,
so they will be taught further.)

My friend is very unsatisfied with how Twinny handled it, and I also am
because my friend had to waste his time to achieve nothing after being
claimed the best. One could say disrespectful.

I may not want to join any servers, but my friend wonders why those without skill are
picked for servers like iClassic, iEra, Era, Zodiac, yet because he does not actually look
for the attention, he will not be picked.

Yes, I had to tell him about it, and motivate him to try out. I knew he was good,
and could most likely do what was needed.

My friend is too humble to agree about this, or take concern to the subject.
He probably would not want me to say his name because of the attention
so I will not. He also can, but chooses not to use the forums, and chooses to
learn GS2 by self teaching...

So you won't see him asking help,
I just find the whole situation intolerable,
because it was clear he deserved it.

He is losing interest with Graal and started making games on other systems though.

He helps out with SL now and then, only because I asked him to join us..
This may just sound like a rant about an imaginary person, but I feel this
person deserves recognition, since he is better than most who kiss up for it.

Ironic? Kiss ups, popularity contests, and friendships get you staff
positions, yet those who deserve it are too bashful to be known, or just overlooked.

Where am I going with this...
I guess no where, I just find what Twinny did was impolite.

But he might do this for $20-30. :]
If the OP is true to his word,
however he isn't giving any information about the script.

:o Okay... well your server is kind of hidden..
I think he prefers your server the most due to it
being closely related to questing and Zelda..

And I believe you already know who it is. He believes
you don't like him at all...because of your personality.
I think he told me he once came on trying to be
friendly and you kind of pushed him aside.

I keep telling him that is only your personality
towards everyone, probably because you are busy,
or just do not want friends. >_<

Anyway,
I suppose that statement can't really go towards your server,
since your staff members are probably low, and probably skilled.
You don't add random people who try.

Sorry, I take it back about Classic and will remove that piece. o.O

As for the other four, I can think of, but won't list, at least one person hired
by popularity or who do not have much experience. Those only wanting to
climb to the top.

I'm not saying psychological egoism is bad but how they are doing it isn't good.

Inexperienced scripters with no reputation within the community have no place on iClassic. It's very easy to earn a reputation by posting in NPC Scripting, be it helping or providing original/unique/quality contributions to the Code Gallery.

Twinny also probably held that "contest" without telling anyone or planning it through completely so your friend would have likely been fired.

ffcmike 05-10-2012 07:04 PM

The logic behind my post is that I have not even hired a developer for scripting purposes in the time that this person has been visiting PC Graal, so it's impossible to have "picked" a low skilled scripter.

Most likely, I have no dislike of this person so it might just be that I missed a few PMs.

He's been scripting for his server on Frontier for 2-3 years,
but that is about all that I know about his history, except his
desire to create games. Currently he has been making games
for other things due to losing interest with Graal.

(Edited: He wanted me to remove the URLs.)

Being fired is better than not have ever been hired I'd think...
But I'd rather hear the explanation from Twinny and give it to
my friend. Since he was left without much closure..

You haven't hired a programmer in 2-3 years. O.O?? Do you do all the work?

He is the type that doesn't make many friends, and would find me his closest..
Which is kind of sad because he truly is an amazing person. But the Graal
community really isn't too friendly lol.. I think I'm his only skype friend,
he usually stayed to himself and his server. The only reason I met him
is through Cat, and she said he had a server that I might be able to
practice my LAT skills on.

Essentially he retaught me to use Graal Script,
which is why I do so much programming wise.

I might never have gotten back into GS without him.
Another reason I find him amazing is because he
is 9 years younger than I am. That was pretty
awkward when I found out. Have you ever been
taught by someone much younger than yourself?

Just because no one has been hired , doesn't mean that there isn't any one already.
