What started as an edit of Dusty's one free tree graphic, turned inspiration after hours of tinkering and revisions. Still WIP.

Looking to the eyes of our profound artists to nitpick at anything that could be turned better. (obviously some refinement is still in order)

P.S. not for free use. Possibility the finished product might be in the future

Very nicely done, I like it :)

The one in the top left looks most stable. Though i'm not sure if it's the base of the tree (which is the look I am preferring) or meant to be tree branches coming out higher up. The other trees dimensions look lost.. I think they need little roots coming out from side going backwards.

FaLLChiLD 03-30-2012 05:31 AM

Top left is the latest and greatest. The upper ones are yes, meant to be branches. I did play with the roots from 'behind'. It was originally before I decided for versions without branches to be added so it looked odd. I do agree for "stability" to add those back roots as well. It will be tested out.

Edit: Should have a solution to keep both the branches plus incorporate back roots for aesthetic stability; just need to fix my photoshop, paint has has worked fine but for efficiency of layers and transparency..un-preferable working without my little luxuries :P

From what I can tell, Jer, you think everything is from RPG maker. I care less which persons it is from, but Dusty introduced it in his Free Tiles thread so I will give credit to where I know it to be from.

Back to topic anyway:

This again. Stay out of the graphics forums.

The tree top is from Dusty, and is not even remotely similar to any RPG Maker trees. The inspiration came from Zelda. The top is more or less done in Minish Cap style, the original trunk (which FallChild replaced, duh) was done in ALttP style.

dont like the cancer lumps :p

also, maybe have it darker between the trees so it doesnt look as awkward:

Wrong. They're from A Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap.

I think it would look cool if you built the tree top out of your cancer humps instead of using Dusty's top

Ducati_Link 03-31-2012 01:27 AM

I think the base roots need to come out just a liilll but more, and will look good :)

neat havent played it but i did see it on a RPG maker tileset.. maybe it was zelda after all just looked really similar or they used zelda tiles.

it was a zelda char character too but graal itself is a zelda edit so its natural the zelda trees fit perfect.

Most RPG Maker tile or sprite sets are not original art, but rather ripped from other games.

geneticfrog 03-31-2012 07:46 PM

it also has artists by the thousands who have donated original graphics for their own games and for others over a long period of years.

its a great resource for indivuals.
