Are staff allowed to. . .?

Are they allowed to evade your privacy, as in, going through your PM history with other people, going through your "messages" you've sent in-game through a chat tool, etc.

Are they allowed? :O

PMs: No, and they (literally and technically) can't anyway.

In-game chat or chat tools: Yes. Classic servers will probably tell you their policy on logging if you speak with the manager or police admin or so, but I wouldn't trust it for sharing sensitive information (phone numbers etc)—I wouldn't trust PMs for that either, though.

GPs will spy on people

Staff are required to spy on all PM's and chat due to the Patriot Act. I think the government thinks terrorist are plotting to harm the U.S. by communicating through Graal. Please report all suspicious people to your local police station

Yes, servers are indeed allowed to monitor private messages if there is suspicion of 'bug abuse, disruptive behavior, or other illegal activities', in addition to 'abusive' activities. Whether or not it is technically possibly for non-Graal Online administrators to do so, I'm not entirely sure.

The 'Rules of Conduct' are pretty clear on what level of privacy you can reasonably expect:
Quote:

GraalOnline policy will respect each individual player's privacy to communicate unless there is a reasonable concern that such conversations relate to bug abuse, disruptive behavior, or other illegal activities. It must be made clear that all actions and conversations within GraalOnline are subject to monitoring. Should a player or players be suspected of illegal or abusive activity, GraalOnline reserves the right to use administration tools to monitor individuals' communications via chats and other private messages.

GraalOnline staff and personnel will never single out individual personal information when communicating to other players or outside parties. GraalOnline expects GraalOnline players to abide by the same respect for personal privacy. Personal information - age, address, personal email, phone numbers, etc. - should never be exploited, communicated between players. Any violations will be strictly punished.

And yet they still find a way

There are a couple problems with it that make it possible if you're creative, yeah, but use/abuse of them would undoubtably get whoever was abusing them globally banned.

That's what one would think, isn't it?
