what needs to happen

for a server to go classic?

Rufus 04-19-2010 02:49 AM

I think this explains it all http://forums.graalonline.com/forums....php?p=1482551

i already saw that before posting this

it doesn't say jack about getting a server to BE classic. all it says is a bunch of unenforced, meaningless bull about what needs to remain in place in order to REMAIN classic.

if that piece of **** you linked to were actually enforced, we would not -have- any classic server.

so my answer hasn't been answered

With an attitude like that, I'm glad you don't run a server that's on the Classic list to begin with.

The link Rufus sent you to is pretty self-explanatory so if you still don't understand, then perhaps Classic is not something you should even try aiming for, yourself.

However, if you do understand it and you actually mean "How are they made into Classic servers", that's all done during the renaming process. Each "Type" of server is preceded with an "invisible letter" denoting it's status.

_Z3phyr_ 04-19-2010 03:24 AM

that post explains what is requried in order to remain a classic server. i did not ask for that.

and its not like my attitude here is uncalled for. i've been around long enough to know how **** really works in this community.

is the thing at the end of it all that is necessary to happen to make it a classic server? what is this inspection crap? these are the kinds of things i want to know.

edit -- how much is enough to pass inspection? if all i need are a few quests (zodiac only had one when it went classic), a few events (zodiac didnt even have any), then its easy peasy.

but there is only one server that went classic on its own. so there is obviously more to it than that.

Wouldn't you imagine that information on "How to remain classic" is pretty much the same thing as "What's required to be Classic"? You can't very well make it to Classic if you can't remain Classic now, can you? Think of Classic as a more "Pristine" and more "Complete" Hosted server that has a higher popularity rating attracting more players. So you're following the Hosted requirements, but expanding on them to meet requirements to "Remain Classic", as you put it, and as I said earlier - You can't exactly expect to make it there at all if you're not already "Remaining Classic".

Poor attitude is never called for, regardless of how long you've been around. Your ability to understand how things work in the community is not measured by how long you've been in it, either.

that makes absolutely no sense. you have to be classic in order to remain classic, not the other way around.

i behave this way because i've learned that it is better to do what is necessary rather than what is sufficient.

Not to insult your intelligence, but obviously you don't have a clue what you just read. OBVIOUSLY you'd have to BE Classic in order to "Remain Classic", but if you're able to fulfil the requirements to "Remain Classic", then you'd obviously have no trouble having your server make it to Classic. Did you read what I wrote, or just jump on the argument wagon for the sake of it?

What are you doing here that's so necessary, calling out some sort of hidden corruption that you think resides in the PWA? Bashing servers because you don't think they're worth playing?

How to apply: If you wish to apply for this tab owners must apply through [email to a PWA] with a subject line of (Playerworld name) (type of inspection) ie. Era Classic inspection. Please also give us a brief description of the following things to be sure we are aware of them

# What interesting things does your server bring to Graal that are unlike any other server?
# How does your server differentiate itself from all of the other classic & hosted servers?
# The hosted server list is for servers to attract developers, is your server at a stable enough point in the development process to attract new developers to your server?
# Are your staff capable of presenting a professional front in front of players?
# Are you the original owner of the server or has it owned by people in the past? If yes, who?
The Playerworld Administration reviews your server through inspections.

Quote:

Please allow at least 1 to 14 days for inspection and responses from all parties that need to inspect.
The server gets accepted/declined.

your rules to remain classic consist of empty statements like "take care of your staff members" and "so and so is responsible for this". if what you're saying is true, then there would be a lot more classic servers on that F8 menu.

but forget about it because i just talked to skyld in player and he was a lot more helpful than you people were.
