Hello,

I find it really annoying and pointless that your posts can't only contain capped letters, what's the point oO?

I find it very annoying that all caps is disabled too.

Just add any emote which code contains a lower case character, like :p or :fro:.

I totally thought this was going to be a thread about Billy Mays.

EDIT: I agree, though.

the point is so that people don't feel like they are being "yelled at" because people are stupid enough to think that because you are typing with all caps that it somehow means you are yelling

For the most part people who make all caps posts appear unintelligent, and I cringe whenever I open a thread that is 'CAPS ONLY'.

The anti-caps stuff sucks because it ruins short posts which only consist of an abbreviation (like my "EP" response in the thread in the Zone forums, where I had to add an emote (I dislike white text :p) so it wouldn't end up as "Ep").

I dunno. According to Wikipedia, CAPS LOCK is not proper Netiquette.

It's disabled because caps lock is cruise control for cool. </lame>

It is a default setting as far as I know, but I never really liked it either. In any case, default rules are usually changed or removed if the users are not comfortable with them.

Even with cruise control you still have to steer

man, i could have sworn that'd i'd made a post, and then edited it. and after the edit it allowed all caps. but apparently that was in my head.

Instead of writing :"YOU SUCK"
You can write :"You suck! >:-D"

i think YOU SUCK translates to You suck! >:/

There's an easy trick to avoid the caps filter. Let's assume we just want to write a short post that shows people we are frustrated:
"DAMMIT!"
That would probably be filtered to "Dammit!". We can avoid the filter by doing this though:
"D[color=black]A[/color]MMIT!"

And I believe that this should be allowed, too. Of course, a full fledged 10 line post filled with capital letters is stupid, and I guess the filter is for things like this, but a one or two word caps post should be fine.
