Pretty cool idea!

smirt362 02-14-2013 07:28 PM

People are going to send inappropriate cards to each other. I'm calling it now.

Andre2006 02-14-2013 08:05 PM

Here are the ones I've sent out to people right now. The drawing system is a bit odd lol and you can't erase anything you'll have to delete the whole card if you want to do it over!

You can erase, you just have to slide the RGB sliders to white and draw over it. I might make an undo button or something.
And yes, inappropriate pictures have been drawn.
50% of the cards I've seen are either blank or poorly drawn male genitalia.

Andre2006 02-14-2013 10:28 PM

Erasing doesn't work very good, the pure white is a different white from the actual card so you'll be painting white on top of some very bright gray.

And it's impossible to erase fully, depending on how strong of a colour you used. Sometimes it glitches out and you can't draw full lines and it starts drawing dots.

Gunderak 02-14-2013 11:14 PM

If its drawing dots you need to move your mouse slower.
And I might make it just draw lines from point to point instead of just when the mouse is dragged. Seems the more conventional way to do it.

That tool looks like it was made in less than 5 minutes as a concept at best, I really hope it isn't actually on the server.. I know not everything can be "perfect" but it should at least look somewhat cleaned up especially if it's going to be on a listed server.

Supaman771 02-15-2013 05:10 AM

Cool idea guys, too bad mine doesn't work (recipients get a totally black card regardless of what I make).

Don't we have a color picker already (nicknames) that could've been used instead of the bars? I had to pop open my paint.net and edit custom colors to figure out some combinations I wanted.

Prior to realizing my stuff wasn't sending, my ink drawing was just making little dots every second or so, it took like half an hour to make a simple picture, and I couldn't erase fully even switching to white, it left little half-circles.

:c just sad I spent like 2 hours doing cards and none of them appeared.

Uhmm We did this last minute it was a rush job but players enjoyed it, so we enjoyed watching them have fun. Thank you gunderak.
Gunderak and I worked from 10 Midnight to 9am the next day to release it.

bloodykiller 02-16-2013 04:06 PM

it's 2 days the guy is saying "VDay rewards will be right back"

shrimps 02-16-2013 06:42 PM

Pretty sure everybody knows this. o.o

WillaWonka 02-16-2013 08:10 PM

It's actually really neat, I just wish i can get my rewards for the cards, but other than that yeah, it was nifty to be able to draw and send things on era. Never had that before.

shrimps 02-16-2013 09:32 PM

Also buggy, sending multiple cards when you send one. Or the card going blank and sending what ever is behind that square as a screenshot type deal.

shrimps 02-16-2013 09:33 PM

Also speaking of which Andre... Where was my Valentine card? :(
