Start Island Guide
 

It probably couldn't be used at the moment because of the small playercount but when things start moving again it may come in handy. I first made this guide back in December 2008 but couldn't finished it because resizing and creating thumbnails on the wiki was broken but it has finally been fixed today. The guide lists all of the dialogue from the NPCs, how to complete the tasks and screenshots to illustrate.

I hope it comes in useful.

Seriously though, nice work on the tutorial. Its obviously a good bit more than the norm.

I'm sure you mean well Felix, but this is probably too wordy for the average new comer. If they're not patient enough to figure it out for themselves in game, they're definitely not going to use something like this.

edit; you said something about thumbnails. If the tutorial were more based on pictures, with captions and drawn out commands, it would probably be a lot more user friendly than something that features more text than the actual tutorial.

editx2; is gk's tutorial even that hard to figure out? I remember resetting *JohnMcCain just so I could see what it was like.

It's not, but in ever game there seems to be that rare breed of super noob that emerges.

It could probably do with some tweaking I admit. The only big problem is that I've included all of the Dialogue from the NPCs and If I removed those and left the guide stuff in it may be more user friendly and less wordy.

I've made a more concise version of the guide which only includes the pictures, captions and a short description on how to complete each task.
