HP Effects

We have added hp and exp effects when hurting, healing or killing players. You see +12hp or so above someone when you shoot him. This should make it easier to see if you have hurt someone and make you realize how strong you have been hit. Thanks to Gambet for the scripting.

Sounds nice, Can't check it out cuz im banned tough.. :'(

Deas_Voice 06-13-2009 07:17 PM

i want to turn it off.
can i do that?
please?
xD
it's not that i think its a bad idea but i just dont like it.

also gambet, u should take a look on how era did.
nice scripting btw

Gambet 06-13-2009 08:12 PM

I can add some sort of chat command to disable it I suppose, I'm not too sure how people would have wanted it to look so I just threw something together to get a feel for it but any suggestions are welcome on how to improve the way it looks.

Donark 06-13-2009 09:12 PM

I think it looks great. A lot better than era's imo.

MiniOne 06-14-2009 07:11 AM

Its nice, though I would like mine turned off when I'm not on spar planet (:

cbk1994 06-14-2009 08:39 AM

The word "HP" is unnecessary. If someone sees a "-9" in red, they'll know it's HP.

Liberated 06-14-2009 10:13 AM

these kind of renewing, gameplay improving updates it what zone needs to get back it's players. Well done!

Put it in F3 Options

Right....put an option for a single server into the GLOBAL GAME options. Clever.

That aside, only Stefan could do that and it would require recompiling the game just for that ****ty option.

No, he would just change one line of code and force every Windows user to use the same crappy in-game options window Mac and Linux users have to deal with, then tell Gambet to add it in there.

Cubes 06-14-2009 09:09 PM

Will you be able to add options to f3 once the scripted windows are made in the next version?

cyan3 06-14-2009 09:31 PM

The best place to add the option is on the shop window near the mouse control checkbox.

Or not.

Long live gambet!

anubis_wing 06-16-2009 05:17 PM

Out of curiosity, shouldn't it say -12hp when you lose that much?

It does, Stefan just made a mistake in his post. There's a picture of how it looks like in the login news page, though only a picture of HP - was put up, not HP + or Exp +.

that's me.
SN took it, i told him he should take pictures of those other two too, but i guess you cant take picture of all things, would be a spolier for the curius one.

Donark 06-17-2009 09:32 PM

how come you have a ',' typed?

Dan 06-18-2009 12:31 AM

When I walk around when being hurt the HP text follows me a bit shocky, it doesn't look smooth while you are moving. Is it just me or does anyone else experience the same? It doesn't follow you like your chat does.

If by shocky you mean that it sort of bounces left and right as it rises before fading then that's intentionally part of the script, else I'm not sure exactly what you mean. It isn't supposed to follow you like your chat because it's constantly bouncing, raising, and fading.

I think he means it's not very smooth, which it isn't. :[
