Are you good at sending Staff Apps?

well,i'd just want to know how many people are bad at doing Staff Applications
(just like me :P) and who are good..

when i do one i normally get a mind block i can't think of anything till like 20 minutes later till my brain starts working o.o

App Example:
how many hours have you played this server?

uhmm.....234 and uhmm 20 minutes :)

why do you think you would be a good staff member?

uh...? uhmmm because i like this position uhmm (MIND BLOCK)
because i think i'd do well at this position.

Aww what sucked :(

I can't remember the last time I actually had to send in an application to get a job somewhere.

But they're an easy thing to do. Useless questions though.

Shadow5596321 10-21-2008 02:13 AM

I'm alright at it.

cbk1994 10-21-2008 03:51 AM

Staff applications are extremely easy. You just need to try, don't be lazy.

Nataxo 10-21-2008 03:51 AM

idk ask my Boss :p

jkool666 10-21-2008 03:51 AM

I've only been deny'd once and have applied for six different Graal jobs so I think thats an okay ratio.
I hate applications though...

Ever seen any of the long Zodiac applications? Those are designed to see if people are dedicated enough to finish with proper answers xD. So long........

maximus_asinus 10-21-2008 04:07 AM

Staff applications are less about content and more about who you are and who you know. On Classic I sent in the same resume for the GC team 4-5 times and got rehired each time, I doubt I even had to send one in. Also, every LAT job I've ever got the LAT Admin asked me.

Seich 10-21-2008 05:21 AM

I can't remember the last time I, wrote an app, most of the time, people ask to work for them... but they are often simple to answer, even long apps are just a bunch of futile, time killing questions...

WanDaMan 10-21-2008 12:52 PM

I think of it as an CV for when applying for a job, however; on graal I've got a reputation so it's quite easy to get a job >_<!1

AlexP_P 10-21-2008 04:46 PM

most of my applications suck, i know the questions are easy but there is someone who gets my place >:(

Elizabeth 10-21-2008 08:14 PM

crowfeather told me i had the perfect application when i was a gp......
last time i applied kari said my application was perfect

Codein 10-21-2008 08:21 PM

I think they're tedious but sometimes can show the cream of the crop. As others said above, I rarely have to send in an application to get hired these days. At most, all I have to do is show some work I've done.

Sadly it's the same here. However the few times I do have to fill in an app they say I do a great job. Era's requirements were something like 350+ hours for GP with the exception of "extraordinary apps", I only had 120 and was first pick. :D

DustyPorViva 10-21-2008 08:54 PM

I can't remember the last time I filled out an application, nor the last time I had interest in trying out for a server. Usually people come to me asking for help or I go to friends whom I have an interest in helping.

Ravenblade1979 10-25-2008 02:59 AM

If you can't do a staff application then you can't apply for a job irl. its the same thing.

Who are you to judge a person?

Last I checked your still wasting your time on this game. If I remember correctly I'm the one who quit and got myself a decent job and a life.

kia345 10-25-2008 05:12 AM

Your job must be pretty worthless if you're comparing your resume to a staff application.

I can't make a serious application for Graal if I tried, which I resorted to getting laughs in my FAQ app (might I say that it worked).

Do you honestly think that doing that prohibits me from getting a job?

@Pojo: It was more of a comparison. I see both as significant. If you can do one then you can do the other. yes they may be different in their own ways but if your able to write one you should be able to do the other.

I love when you try to make a point, it's so cute

@Pojo: Maybe you should think this one over. I could argue my point but like other people you only see me as an idiot and frankly I don't feel like arguing with anyone on here.

This post? I put the important words in bold.

Too difficult for you to play Graal and have a life at the same time?

Wrong. I'd think a person naturally puts more effort into something they consider more important. And an actual job is more important than a job on Graal, by far.

Internet is serious business.

Playing Graal without a job was too hard for him

xXziroXx 10-25-2008 04:09 PM

I've failed the majority of my staff applications on Graal, yet I've not failed a single job application or interview IRL (although I quit my last job so I'm unemployed atm). So, come again Raven?

For a second I could've sworn I was about to get Rick Rolled xD.

Staff applications are very easy since you pretty much just write anything you want.

But yeah, the most creative one I ever got was where the question "Why do you want to be a scripter on N-Pulse?" was answered by a rather creative pokemon spin off.

I can bring the server quality.

It got my attention at the least.

I laughed hard. It's a good thing the boss wasn't all up-tight, such a person would be a refreshing presence as long as he does his job.

Edit: No wonder Ravenblade has a bad reputation

cyan3 10-25-2008 06:32 PM

For development jobs I've never have to do staff applications because my work speaks for it's self. Saying this I've only done 1 staff application in the past year and it was for FAQ on Graal Kingdoms but mind blanks were not really a problem because I knew what I wanted to say and why I wanted the job.

Soala 10-25-2008 10:52 PM

Don't ever think your application is wrong when you know you'r able to handle the job you'r applying for.
Tell the truth, show your skills, and you'r all done ^^
