Please note that my scanner is a piece of crap, especially when the picture I'm trying to scan is too big for the scanner door to close ;(

Zideruic 01-16-2007 07:38 PM

That guitar player is A+

Mykel 01-16-2007 07:38 PM

Wow, those are amazing.

I especially like the black guy and the guy playing guitar. Great work.

[edit]

and by "black guy" I mean Jimmy Hendrix. Didn't see that at the bottom last time.

coreys 01-16-2007 07:42 PM

That "guitar player" happens to be Slash. My scanner cut off his head and tophat ;(

hampy 01-16-2007 07:43 PM

Damn those are awesome! I like them all especially the 2nd, 4th and 5th. Brilliant work mate, wish I was that good :p

WanDaMan 01-16-2007 07:58 PM

Wow! Lovely! =D

Not such a fan of your pencil drawings, but your Prisma color and oil paintings look quite nice - especially the guitarist.

exactly my view

smirt362 01-16-2007 10:21 PM

I love the Oil on Canvas

Tom 01-17-2007 03:46 PM

:D Very nice, i love the guitarist one espcially.

On the black dude with pencil and paper, you seem to have shaded so much the whole papers jsut gone grey. Something i find fun doing, is get a rubber and make a few light parts, like creases in his shirt and shines on his face.

Also had a few really dark shades and lines in the obvious dark parts.
Will look awesome after, trust :D

I think it was just a poor scan - here's a tweaked file from Photoshop.

Yeah it looks more like that, only a liiiitle bit lighter, and the empty space is completely white since I scanned it. After awhile of being in a sketch book the pencil gets on the backside of the paper in front of it and smears back onto the drawing. So I took it out and erased the smears. Yay for Magic Rub erasers. =) I want a kneaded eraser though. =( I had one but I lost it.

Tom 01-17-2007 09:46 PM

ooo i just realised what makes the black dude image odd, i think its the face anatomy, it looks stretched and also the fact he has no knucles so your unable to define where his fingures bend :o

Felix_Xenophobe 01-17-2007 09:50 PM

Slash's left hand fingers look weird D;
Other than that he looks awesome.

Stephen 01-17-2007 10:27 PM

The entire face, most specifically the lips, are pushed too far to the right of the page. That's not unusual with newer artists (concentrating on features and not the whole face). He's got lots of time to learn, and he's got the shadow pretty good - texture of the hair looks good.

Yeah, I do a lot better when I'm working on stuff with my art tutor. I wasn't for that one.

I've got to agree with what's already been said.
I don't know about the b&w pencil drawings...the quality of the base for the dragon & dude with the fro isn't that great
But Dang that's some sick color pencil talent!! Alright, the b&w guy, too, looks like you put alot of time into it, the base for is just off

PrinceDark 01-19-2007 04:42 AM

The drawing of the guy smoking is pretty damn nice. Think you could draw a pic of me with that style?

Sulukra 01-19-2007 04:54 AM

On the pencil picture of the guy smoking, the gap between the fingers holding the cigarette and the other two fingers looks too big - it might just be me, but it just doesn't quite look right.

I don't know what you look like D=

I would think that people would have gotten that its Jimi Hendrix, not just some black guy with a fro. =( DOES NO-ONE KNOW WHAT HE LOOKS LIKE ANYMORE?! ;-;
(plus is says his name in the bottom right corner)

Thanks for the compliments though. =)

Not unless you agree to pay him, artists need to buy their supplies!

This is true. Which is why this joke is funny, sad, and true. All at the same time.
"What did the Art Major say to the Engineering Major?
'Do you want fries with that?'"

Artists ALWAYS need a second job.

I knew that I couldn't get rich doing what I enjoy (tinkering and such) so I'm taking a graphics design diploma - it exposes me to a lot of contacts, the money is fairly easy since I'm naturally talented in it, and it supports my hobbies.

I generally don't have to pay for supplies as most of my work is done at my art lessons, where the supplies are provided for me. Although I wouldn't consider it so much Art Lessons as...Art Guidance...When I first started I had my hand held all the way through a work (figuratively speaking, of course), but after awhile, since I've progressed a great deal in my skills, I kind of do it on my own mostly, with little tips and a little bit of guidance from my teacher. =) It's great.

I'm favoring the landscape and the guitarist the most.

All pretty nice.

I started on this nice tropical beach scene...but then i got bored with it and started on a zombie scene (it was around Halloween after all) and now I'm doing a large painting of Santana doing his blues thing. ;)
