99-05 graal rocked and 06-10 graal should be improved
this is my opinion, and i don't give a flying **** about graal before 1999 because i didn't play. 2005 was a sort of toss up because it sort of sucked, but it wasn't as terrible as things are now. 2000-2003 was the best that graal has ever been
|
holy ****, you're a genius
|
I wouldn't say 06-10 sucks by any means, but it's no where near how it used to be.
|
Guys, the economy is bad. Let's make it better!
|
Okay. What Graal needs to do is to catch up with the times. 2D is not dead. I.e. iPhone and DSi. Graal Online is the business name and should be the name of a launcher, yes. Graal Online Launcher ( GO Launcher :D ). And each "playerworld" should be considered its own game. Accounts should be caught up with the times as well. You should be paying for specific games, or rather access to them. So that servers that strive to be different from classic can also be considered their own game. I mean, Gscript is an engine and Graal is just a loader.
Graal hasn't evolved with the times. Thats my opinion at least. tldr; I agree with OP. |
05 did not rock and 04 barely "rocked"

Graal now sucks. |
I'm not sure people on Classic Iphone will share your opinion lol.
We're almost 800-1300 online everyday, good ambiance etc... it rocks. |
Obviously... You're on a platform that cannot potentially play anything better than Graal ATM.
Graal is a hit on the iPhone because there's nothing like it *yet*. |

Graal started to suck before 2006.
I love Graal though, I'll play alone. |

Graal has always been the same. Prices aside, the only thing that's changed it your standards. Nostalgia's a *****.
|
Graal hasn't changed? That's one of the dumbest things I've heard, and I've heard a lot of dumb things in my life.
|
Don't blame it on nostalgia. There's no doubt the game has decrease it's player content/quality over the years. They just don't care like they used to.
|
No, it hasn't decreased. It just hasn't increased.
|
It's safe to say (in my opinion) that managers and staff a-like don't put in nearly as much effort as there was on older servers.

I am nostalgic as **** for the times when there were competent, dedicated staff hanging out somewhere online pretty much 24/7 and shooting around ideas and scripts and what not and there were updates to either the world or the engine every couple of days.
|
Also I guess for the times when I had a free supposedly-lifetime gold account
|
Also for when the forum was moderated by cool people

I think even if Classic was restored to what it once was, and completely free... I wouldn't play. I really only played way back before p2p, and I think it had a lot to do with my level of maturity and low standards. Even then, I stopped playing around 2001-2002, when I started developing. I never looked back.
Perhaps the most appealing was 2k1, but it cost so I never got a real opportunity to play it. I can't say I'd play it even if it was brought back now. Besides the most obvious problems with Graal, I think it mostly comes down to Graal being mostly PK-oriented, or social-oriented... and I don't enjoy either much on Graal. There's not much else to do on Graal. |

Graal was never good. Graals people were good. The good people grew up and left, the people in "power" suffered rotation, and the real people in power shifted their priorities.
That's it. |
