60 second PM's to staff

As being FAQ on Graal Kingdoms I've noticed that it's hard for users with trial accounts to communicate with me because they can only send 1 PM every 60 seconds making it harder for me to give them the same level as support as a gold user. Because staff members are here to support the community of a server the 60 second rule should be removed when PMing staff members.

smokeraider 12-10-2008 02:24 AM

I agree on that for sure.

I 2nd that.

xAzerothx 12-10-2008 03:01 AM

Pretty good idea. You'll just regret when a trial PMs you 50+ times calling you a *** just for giggles.

Nataxo 12-10-2008 03:09 AM

i support this of course.

RevolutionJS 12-10-2008 03:46 PM

Ye very good.

GAH, 300 posts already?

Isn't the point of 60 second pms a reason to make them upgrade? If trials get more access, they have less reason to upgrade.

Giving the trials a better environment can also improve chances of a trials upgrading though. If they are able to ask the FAQs questions about the game, for example.

dragonballzfans 01-06-2009 02:57 AM

That would be a plus

Thats when you put them on ignore o.O?

Zeltino 01-06-2009 07:15 AM

I agree with the above agreements.

Clockwork 01-06-2009 09:03 AM

Meh...I think cutting it down in size would be fine...like 30 seconds between...I can see new trials becoming rebellious w/ spam as previously said.

cyan3 09-12-2010 07:23 PM

bump, this would be really helpful.

Cosss 09-12-2010 07:59 PM

Agreed, when I was a trial this was very annoying when I was talking to FAQs.

I thought this was already possible through the wonders of GScript 2.. 99.9% sure it is possible already, and willing to bet large sums *cough* over $1000 *cough* that I could replicate such.

Nope. Unless you scripted your own PMs, which is pretty much cheating.

Well, that or if you were really lazy I guess you could make the server pm the staff member for you..

besides.. it's not cheating at all.. just time consuming.

It's "cheating" because it's not using PMs and therefore not accomplishing the goal of this thread. Also, I'd never use a PM system except the default due to the possibility of staff logging of PMs.

N01ze 11-02-2010 01:37 AM

I agree with this, i think it could be a good way for trials to communicate with staff to ask questions and therefore maybe even buy a subscription if they like the game enough

Imperialistic 11-02-2010 04:35 AM

I actually disagree.
60 seconds limit is there for the trial "hey you need to upgrade" pressure. It would make it easier, but it's also there to push them towards upgrading.

Or push them away from the game entirely...

I think someone is way more likely to upgrade if they're able to communicate with staff members about the game than if they get a message saying "Whoops, you're ****ed!" when they try to ask an FAQ how they're supposed to play.

Imperialistic 11-02-2010 08:22 AM

That's also true, but there could be other stupid limitation that could be removed such as observer mode if they want to keep future customers.

The problem there isn't the 60-second limit, but rather the fact that people need to ask a FAQ how to play.

I agree with you on that.

As for the rest of the replies about this I'm getting total 2006 deja vu.

As far as pming staff why isn't it allowed for staff already..?

That's like saying If I played on WoW and I sent in a report and I was trying to talk to the GM and suddenly I'm getting interrupted by

Quote:

<Spam Blocker>Sorry, But trials can only send a whisper to staff every 60 seconds!
as I'm trying to talk to the guy!

Now players sure it's alright but i think 30 seconds would be more fair and staff to player talk have the restriction lifted entirely.

StormYs 11-02-2010 09:01 PM

I agree that trials should be able to pm staff without a time restriction

It was just an example. New players being able to communicate with staff members in general without restriction seems like common sense to me. It could be for any number of reasons, but I know if I was a new player and wanted to ask someone a question but couldn't, I would just log off.

Making trials wait 60 seconds to get help from staff is just terrible customer service (or potential-customer service =p).

Gothika 11-04-2010 09:45 PM

I think it really does need doing, and to be honest getting it done before Christmas would be perfect since usually during the holiday periods servers get an influx of new players.

Although that might be true trials still may need to contact other staff members such as Managers, Admins, and GPs and the 60 second rule is limiting it.

It's just talking to the staff. It's not like they can pm random people.

Just to make sure he understands after all those years.

Admins 06-04-2011 01:59 AM

BTW all servers have been updated to enable this (endless PMs to staff).
