graal will most definitely not be dead in two years or so.
if graphs and charts are showing that it regains players when school's out, and lost them when school's back, then it's just the natural process of graal.

not to mention that stefan and unixmad will be releasing new features and systems within those two years- which will also bring up playercount.

There's also a few serious servers that have come pretty far in development as of late, I don't think any of them will fail a Classic inspection when they're ready for it.

People say this all the time. Those servers you're talking about probably will never be finished.

I'm fairly confident in at least 3 of them.

I think its very hard to get NEW players
Evryone who see´s this game is like BLUGH What an awwfull game.
In my class they laught at me because I play graal.(Not that I mind)
I think only graal 3D can save.
Now there arnt coming much NEW players and more players will quit.
2D is not good anymore for new players.

No, the problem is that server managers/owners aren't advertising their own server outside of Graal. True, it affects Graal as well, but as a manager/owner it's in your best interest to attract more players to your game, or otherwise all the hard work and time (not to mention money) would have been put to waste.

Can always make a cool video containing the things you like most of your favorite servers and put it on YouTube to show your friends.

RevolutionJS 12-10-2008 10:41 PM

Because there's really no evidence backing up such a claim. Sure, I can't supply evidence that Graal will be alive in 2 years but I don't see why it wouldn't be. It will just have less players at the current trend we're seeing.

However they'll hopefully be making money and publicity through their iphone sideprojects to help Graal out.

I'm laughing so ****ing hard right now, you have to be kidding me. I hear the 'We will release new content soon!' every year or so,, it's not like I except something new anytime soon.

the playercount will go down, and the playercount will go up. it's natural.

Why would he stop production on new server content? He's not doing anything. They're just not putting out.

You do realize what the thread was originally titled before Stefan thought this thread was going to single-handedly destroy Graal, right?

Stop making fun out of yourself, it's getting ridiculous.

Graal is a niche product.

Of course I do. It's a market with only a handful of players.

You're wrong, and this is coming from someone with no avatar. A niche is a product targeted towards the specific needs of a small market; a focussed group with a common demographics, interests, etc. Graal can be of interest to a lot of different people, and there is a large audience it could target so it's really not a niche market as the market for online gaming certainly isn't a niche. The development side of Graal could be seen as a niche area, but Graal as a whole is not.

He is European, although one with no interests outside the computer. I know him IRL, so take my word for it.

Small market: Zelda nerds with no sense of dignity.
Specific need to be filled: Zelda onlinez.

If I remember correct, back in 2000ish it was you and your brother who were saying how awesome Graal was and always messing with your offline worlds and got me started on it as well.

So cut the crap, I know you like to act like a badass ignorant mother ****er online, when in fact you're quite the opposite in reality.

I'm pretty sure my predictions are more reasonable than yours. Specially since I presented a valid reason why Graal may be going on an opposite route sometime in the near future, while you didn't present anything really.

xAzerothx 12-12-2008 11:42 PM

Graal's not going to die.

The end.
