Amazing work, as I've said many times ;)
|
Nice detail, looks a lot better.
|
Thx guys! ^-^
BTW: First dungeon is finished, sort of. Matty works on the 2nd dungeon, and i started working on the 3rd one already (You can already enter the first room of the 3rd dungeon, its very nearby the OSL)! :) |

Revamped sword ganis and sprite sheets. Sword sprite sheets now only need two sprites: an icon (to be used later) and the "main sprite" which is then rotated in the gani. Awesome time saver, that's for sure :) We also added a neat motion trail to the gani. New sound, too! Check it out!

I love it!

You know my opinion on this. That you do.
Also, foot steps are very loud and invasive. The "normal" step and wood step sounds like a hammer banging. They should be very soft and never louder than what else is going on. |

The swords look really good!

about the footstep sounds: i'm going to change them, don't worry!! :)
|
Requests fulfilled, default sword behavior restored. Now, let's actually discuss the other changes to the swords. Like/don't like?
|
Was the stepping noise lowered already? I just logged on to test it out and it seems quite loud and starts to get a bit annoying.
Sword seems fine to me but I think you should lower the opacity a bit when the blade swings, also I have some sprite bug with my sword when I slash facing right. http://i.imgur.com/TWC3e.png |

Also, nope, stepping noise wasn't lowered yet. |

i'll edit the walk noises tomorrow, don't worry! ;)

Sword is much better :) You might want to look into adding a wave effect(kind of like in Crono's sig). Probably only need a single one on the middle frame for the right effect.
The sounds are still meh. They are REALLY invasive on the ears... like, really. It's a constant banging when I wear headphones and for footsteps this is very bad. Footsteps should sound so natural and soft that I can almost forget I'm hearing them. For slashed bushes, it might be interesting to see the leaves fly up and then slowly fall(like a leaf falling from a tree). Right now they look like they're exploding. You should apply for hosted. It's definitely worthy of it. |

to be honest, i cant make the soundeffects sound decent on BOTH headphones AND speakers. ive been doing them on headphones at first, then speakers. and the sounds are very silent compared to the graal standard walksound, and compared to all other sounds. but if you have a suggestion of a soundeffect, feel free to show us, because honestly, i dont think i can do better - i've been sitting on those damn sounds for like 1-2 days, its really hard. :S

I think LTTP has sounds for footsteps in the water and dashing (that might be Link's Awakening)

the walking sounds don't feel natural. I was exploring the map and I came across this one area with several different types of tiles where it sounded more like a drum beat than walking (was a pretty cool beat, too!).
|
small update: the lava in the forge is now animated. also, i'm almost done designing swords, and i have begun designing shields :)

Edit: Personally I find the walking sounds cool, but I also find them far too distracting. I think it needs to be more subtle. I love the bush hiding and the character dialogue though. Let me know if you want any help, I would be glad to offer it. |
